Saved by the power of God’s Word

Ramu was born in a pipe, intended to channel human waste. But the real miracle is how he survived his first few years of life. Decent food was hard to come by. Clean water and plumbing were rare. Electricity – unheard of.

Society called Ramu’s parents “untouchables.” Others called them “scavengers.” Ramu recalls, “I don’t remember much about my parents. But I know they were desperate. Why else would they sell me into slavery?”

Ramu spent years of his life herding cattle in harsh conditions. He was given just enough food and water to stay alive. And he was punished without cause. “I didn’t think anyone in the world cared about me,” Ramu shares. “I had to work hard. And I was beaten. They yelled at me. They said I was their slumdog.”

But God was watching over Ramu. And He had a plan. It started with a stranger, maybe an angel, passing through the countryside. Without explanation, he gave Ramu a copy of the Bible. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Ramu devoured page after page. Miraculously, he understood every word. And the tears rolled down his face when he came face-to-face with the power of Jesus’ love.

Ramu asked Jesus into his heart. He even shared Jesus with his owners. Today, Ramu’s owners are now his family – they’ve all come to Jesus. And it all started with a copy of God’s Word.
